A Story Unfinished

Middle-Grade Magical Realism - Releasing July 9th

With just a pencil stroke she can create magical creatures like furry-amphibians, rock giants, and gelatinous blobs. But these creatures were supposed to stay fictional—not come to life and disrupt everything.

Twelve-year-old Rose uses the creation of imaginary worlds to escape from her parents’ nasty divorce and her paralyzing self-doubt. She loves to write, but can never gather enough confidence to finish her stories. Just when she thinks her life can’t get any more complicated, she discovers all her imagined creatures have lept straight from the pages and into the real world. She now must find a way to get her beloved characters back to their stories before they cease to exist entirely. One of her characters isn’t too happy about returning to fiction and has found a way to stay, but at the expense of the people Rose loves.
With the help of her fictional friends and her crush, Rose must finish her stories and accept every part of herself, or lose her identity and the people she cares for most.

Stars of The Sea

Young Adult Fantasy Romance - Current WIP

17-year-old Marella has grown up most of her life at Stanley's Starlight Circus as an underwater performer. Since a young age, she could hold her breath for extreme amounts of time and has a skin condition that the circus monopolizes, claiming she’s a real-life mermaid. She dreams of performing under the Big Top but, as a “freak,” is barred from such. That’s until the circus acquires a creature, Finn, as she soon calls him, and Marella is tasked to train and perform with him in a magical underwater act. Finn is nothing like anything she’s ever seen, seeming to be half human and half sea monster, with no ability to talk. As Marella learns more about Finn, she realizes he’s not a creature at all but an individual with complex feelings and thoughts, and she soon develops strong feelings for him. As their connection grows stronger, turmoil from the circus and the harsh realities of the outside world in the 1920s come crashing down around them. Marella must help Finn escape, and decide if her destiny is worth risking her life.
